STRIVING TO CONSERVE NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH EDUCATION AND PRACTICES |
SCHEDULING A GROUP AT THE RESERVE As if getting permission to take a field trip was not hard enough, we realize that the increase in the price of fuel has made field trips even harder to plan. We understand that the rising fuel cost is going to have an impact on where or even if a field trip can be taken. We hope that the quality of our Education programs will keep us at the top of your list of field trip choices. To ensure the quality of our programs remains high we must restrict the numbers of students. Having stated that, we also understand that most schools can not afford to send just one class per day. To assist the schools with large numbers, we will now do groups up to 120 students on a single day. However, do to facility restrictions, the group will be treated as two separate groups. One group will work out of the Terra lab side, while the other will work out of the Aquatics lab. The two groups will not interact and will not eat together. We realize this will make a little more work on your end (making sure kids and lunches are on the same bus, and the splitting of the groups will also need to be done ahead of time). Both groups will cover the same topic, and be involved in the same activities; they will just be on different trails. We hope this and other changes make your field trip selections easier.
